DECISIONE DEL CONSIGLIO del 14 febbraio 2000 che istituisce il comitato politico e di sicurezza ad interim	COUNCIL DECISION of 14 February 2000 setting up the Interim Political and Security Committee
IL CONSIGLIO DELL'UNIONE EUROPEA,	THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
visto il trattato sull'Unione europea, in particolare l'articolo 28, paragrafo 1,	Having regard to the Treaty on European Union and in particular Article 28(1),
visto il trattato che istituisce la Comunità europea, in particolare l'articolo 207,	Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community and in particular Article 207 thereof,
ricordando l'articolo 25 del trattato sull'Unione europea,	Recalling Article 25 of the Treaty on European Union,
considerando quanto segue:	Whereas:
Nell'ambito del rafforzamento della politica estera e di sicurezza comune (PESC) e, in particolare, della politica europea comune in materia di sicurezza e di difesa di cui all'articolo 17 del trattato sull'Unione europea, il Consiglio europeo, riunitosi a Helsinki il 10-11 dicembre 1999, ha invitato il Consiglio ad istituire, a decorrere dal marzo 2000, gli organi e le strutture interinali per l'attuazione della politica europea comune in materia di sicurezza e di difesa,	In the framework of the strengthening of the common foreign and security policy (CFSP) and in particular of the common European policy on security and defence provided for in Article 17 of the Treaty on European Union, the European Council meeting in Helsinki on 10 and 11 December 1999 invited the Council to establish as of March 2000 the interim bodies and arrangements for the implementation of the common European policy on security and defence,
DECIDE:	HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Articolo 1	Article 1
1. Il comitato politico istituito dall'articolo 25 del trattato sull'Unione europea si riunisce a Bruxelles in formazione distinta, chiamata "comitato politico e di sicurezza ad interim", quando il comitato politico non è riunito. Detta formazione è composta di rappresentanti nazionali a livello di alti funzionari/ambasciatori delle rappresentanze permanenti degli Stati membri.	1. The Political Committee established by Article 25 of the Treaty on European Union shall meet in Brussels under a separate formation, called the "Interim Political and Security Committee", when it is not in session. This formation shall be composed of national representatives at senior/ambassadorial level within the framework of Member States Permanent Representations.
2. Il comitato politico e di sicurezza ad interim, in stretto contatto con il Segretario generale/Alto rappresentante,	2. The Interim Political and Security Committee shall, in close contact with the Secretary General/High Representative:
a) prepara raccomandazioni sul futuro funzionamento della politica europea comune in materia di sicurezza e di difesa,	(a) prepare recommendations on the future functioning of the common European policy on security and defence;
b) tratta le pratiche PESC correnti.	(b) deal with CFSP affairs on a day-to-day basis.
Articolo 2	Article 2
1. La presente decisione entra in vigore il 1o marzo 2000.	1. This Decision shall enter into force on 1 March 2000.
2. Essa si applica fino all'istituzione degli organi permanenti della politica europea comune in materia di sicurezza e di difesa.	2. It shall apply until the permanent bodies of the common European policy on security and defence are established.

La presente decisione è pubblicata nella Gazzetta ufficiale.	This Decision shall be published in the Official Journal.
